Joshua Eriksson hails from Oslo, Norway but at an early age he wandered out into the world in search of adventure and muses for his intuitive artistic gaze. For the past three years, he has been living in Tokyo. In search of something different, Eriksson moved to the pulsating Japanese metropolis to uncover its quirkier sides, of which Tokyo has many. Eriksson plays with light and form in interesting ways raising legitimate questions - is he post-modern? Is he a nouveau-impressionist? The ambiguities of his work defy simple categorization, however, his thematic treatment of urban flux does create images which speak to those caught up in the social and transient hives great cities have now become. Avoiding explicit comment, Eriksson instead attempts to create beautiful and interesting shots of city life.
